Raymond Forklift Battery
Raymond trucks are mostly warehouse equipment, so the battery question is about the walkie and stacker ranges, not the counterbalance trucks.
This is the Raymond page of the forklift battery set: what the walkie and stacker ranges use, how their 24V packs differ, and the parts questions that come with them.

Parts, service and components
What is inside a truck and what fails.
Why warehouse trucks use a different pack
A walkie stacker is not a small forklift. Its battery is sized for a different duty entirely.
Lower voltage, smaller pack, different cycle
Raymond's walkie and stacker ranges mostly run 24V, because the trucks lift less and move shorter distances than a counterbalance machine. The pack is smaller, and on a high-throughput site it can cycle more often than a forklift pack does, which makes cycle life the specification that matters rather than peak current.
Opportunity charging suits these trucks well
Walkie equipment works in short bursts with idle periods, which is exactly the pattern opportunity charging is designed for. Plugging in between movements keeps the pack in the middle of its range instead of cycling from full to empty, and that is where the longest life comes from.
Reading a Raymond model code
The stacker ranges take different packs within the same voltage, so the model matters.
The code identifies the chassis, not the battery
Codes such as W25-30ZA2, RSS-22-30-40 or SL30UT describe the stacker chassis and its capacity class. Within one voltage there are several pack sizes, so the code narrows the candidates and the compartment measurement decides between them, exactly as on a counterbalance truck.
The parts inside are mostly common across ranges
Alternators, seats, controllers and contactors recur across the ranges, and the same failure modes apply. What differs is access: a walkie truck's compartment is often tighter and the pack comes out in a different direction, which changes how long a replacement takes and what equipment is needed.
The four things that decide a Raymond pack
Voltage and compartment size
Most of the range is 24V, and the compartment on a walkie truck is tighter than on a counterbalance machine. Measure before ordering.
Cycles per day, not amp-hours
Warehouse equipment cycles far more often than a forklift. Cycle life at a stated depth matters more than the headline capacity.
Opportunity charging tolerance
These trucks idle between movements, so partial charging is the normal pattern. Both lead-acid and lithium handle it if the charger is matched.
How the pack comes out
Access direction differs by range and sets how long a replacement takes. It is worth photographing the compartment before ordering.
Questions people ask before they buy
What battery does a Raymond forklift use?
Most Raymond warehouse equipment runs 24V, while the counterbalance ranges go higher. The pack is sized by the truck's duty rather than its badge, and within one voltage there are several cell configurations, so the model code narrows the candidates and the compartment measurements decide.
Can you put lithium in a Raymond walkie stacker?
Yes, and it suits them. Warehouse equipment works in short bursts with idle periods, so opportunity charging in partial cycles is the normal pattern, which lithium handles better than lead-acid and without the watering routine.
How long does a Raymond forklift battery last?
It depends far more on cycles per day than on calendar age. A walkie stacker cycling several times a shift will reach its cycle limit long before a counterbalance truck doing one charge a day. Depth of discharge and watering discipline move the figure by years either way.
Where can I find Raymond forklift parts?
Through the dealer network for genuine parts, or through aftermarket suppliers for common components such as alternators, seats and contactors. Matching the model code is what matters, because the same part number can span several ranges while the mounting differs.
Is a pallet stacker battery different from a forklift battery?
Yes in size and usually in voltage, though not in construction. Both are deep-cycle packs, but a stacker's is smaller and runs at 24V, and it cycles far more often, which makes cycle life the specification that decides how long it lasts.
Send the model and we will confirm the pack
