How do you use a lithium golf cart battery’s Bluetooth app to read cell voltage and fault status?

A fleet manager is told the new lithium packs have a Bluetooth app and asks what it shows and how to use it in a weekly check.
Direct answer: Treat monitoring as a purchase criterion and a weekly routine. Redway’s golf cart pages list a “Bluetooth APP Demo (Android / iOS)” and list Bluetooth and app as optional upgrades, but do not publish the app’s name, screens or permissions. Confirm what your model exposes, then check pack voltage, current, state of charge, cell voltages, temperatures and fault flags on a schedule.
What the pages say: the 48V 100Ah, 48V 150Ah and 36V 80Ah pages list “Bluetooth APP Demo (Android / iOS)” in the specification table, and Bluetooth, APP, WiFi, 4G and GPS in the optional upgrades. The BMS brands are listed as JBD, DALY, DAREN or an advanced smart BMS. The pages do not say which app goes with which BMS, which data it shows, or which upgrades are fitted by default.
Because the app depends on the BMS and the options you order, ask Redway before purchase: which app, what is the pairing method, what values are shown (pack voltage and current, state of charge, individual cell voltages, temperatures, cycle count, protection and fault status), whether history is stored, and whether the app works without a data connection. Do not buy on the word “Bluetooth” alone.
A weekly routine, as a suggestion: with the cart at rest after charging, record pack voltage, state of charge, the highest and lowest cell voltage and the temperatures. Note any active or recent fault flags. Repeat after a full day of use. Keep a simple log per cart, so changes stand out over weeks rather than looking like noise.
What cell drift means: all cells in a healthy pack rise and fall together. A cell that is consistently high or low compared with the rest, a gap that widens over weeks, or a protection event that keeps coming back are signs to contact Redway with your log. The acceptable cell-voltage spread is not published on the pages, so ask Redway for the number to use. Our post on a lithium pack that will not charge after BMS lockout covers one fault in more detail.
Practicalities: decide who in the fleet can pair with the packs, how the data will be recorded (a sheet or an export), and who acts on an alarm. Redway has not supplied screenshots for this article, so none are shown, and the app’s behaviour should be checked on your own units.

Make monitoring a purchase criterion. Ask Redway to name the app, the options fitted at your price, and what the fleet can see, before comparing price with a quote that has no app.

List the BMS values you need: pack and cell voltages, current, state of charge, temperature and fault flags. Ask for the acceptable cell spread and the meaning of each fault code.

Set a weekly check, keep a log per cart and compare month to month. Escalate with the log attached when cell spread grows or a fault repeats.

Verify before ordering: The app name, screens, permissions and acceptable cell-voltage spread are not published; confirm with Redway. No screenshots are included.
